WAYNE, Pa.Aug. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Camber Spine Technologies announced today that it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its SPIRA™ Open Matrix ALIF device, a unique, interbody fusion implant consisting of spiral support arches and Surface by Design™ technology.  This clearance marks Camber’s tenth line of spinal implant systems to be released in the US market.

SPIRA™ was designed specifically to increase fusion rates and stabilization. The spiral support arches decrease subsidence by load sharing over the entire endplate, while also maximizing bone graft capacity. (NYSE American:XTNT), a leader in the development of regenerative medicine products and medical devices, today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared product line extensions for the Calix-C family of cervical interbody cages.  The clearance provides for the addition of two larger footprints and importantly, for use with allograft.  This clearance strengthens Xtant Medical’s focus in regenerative technologies, providing a more comprehensive. integrated cervical treatment option for surgeons and their patients.

In Xtant’s continued effort to combine our hardware and biologics products to provide total solutions for our customers, the Calix-C indication now includes use with allograft comprised of cancellous and/or corticocancellous bone graft in addition to the current use with autograft.  Xtant Medical’s 3Demin and patented OsteoSponge technology are ideal allografts to use with Calix-C due to their ability to compress, fill and expand within the interbody’s graft chamber, allowing for ideal bone contact with the vertebral plates and fusion. MEMPHIS, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–In2Bones Global, Inc. today announced that its In2Bones USA, LLC subsidiary has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its new Fracture and Correction System. The System will be marketed under the 5MS™ Fracture Repair System and the CoLag™ Locking Compression Screw System brand names.

The 5MS Fracture Repair System is a comprehensive plate and screw system that addresses both fractures and deformities of the 5th metatarsal bone (5thtoe) of the foot. Unlike competitive systems, the 5MS System features an array of anatomically contoured plates and fracture-specific screws that provides surgeons more options to customize the needed repair.

The new System offers surgeons multiple design and performance improvements compared with traditional plate products, plus the versatility of interchangeable screws and plates, and specially designed surgical instruments – all to enhance surgical technique and treatment efficacy.

Mainstay Medical’s ReActiv8-B Clinical Trial Passes Mid-point

Mainstay Medical International plc (“Mainstay” or the “Company”, Euronext Paris: MSTY.PA and ESM of the Irish Stock Exchange: MSTY.IE), a medical device company focused on bringing to market ReActiv8®, an implantable restorative neurostimulation system to treat disabling Chronic Low Back Pain (“CLBP”), announces that over half the required number of implants in the ReActiv8-B Clinical Trial have been performed.

69 subjects have been implanted with ReActiv8 in the trial. The trial design requires 128 subjects in the pivotal cohort to reach the 120-day endpoint before data are made available. An “interim look” for sample size re-estimation is planned when half the implanted subjects have data from the 120-day visit. The enrolment rate has been accelerating as the number of active sites has increased during 2017.

ReActiv8 is designed to electrically stimulate the nerves responsible for contracting muscles which stabilize the lumbar spine. Activation of these muscles to restore functional stability has been shown to facilitate recovery from CLBP. Mainstay received CE Marking for ReActiv8 in May 2016 based on positive results from the ReActiv8-A clinical trial which demonstrated a clinically important, statistically significant and lasting improvement in pain, disability and quality of life in people with disabling CLBP and few other treatment options.Mainstay has begun commercialization in Europe, focusing initially on Germany, where the Company aims to drive adoption of ReActiv8 in a select number of high volume multi-disciplinary spine care centers. The statistical design of the Clinical Trial requires data from the pivotal cohort of 128 randomized subjects at the 120-day primary outcome assessment visit. Total number of subjects implanted will also include some enrolled and implanted as part of the surgical roll-in phase, in addition to subjects in the pivotal cohort. The Trial is designed with an “interim look” for sample size re-estimation when primary outcome data are available from half the subjects in the pivotal cohort, and if necessary the number of subjects in the pivotal cohort may be increased to achieve the targeted statistical significance. The interim analysis will be performed by a third-party independent statistician under the direction of the Data Monitoring Committee (DMC), and the interim results, other than a DMC recommendation regarding the findings, will remain blinded to the Company, study subjects, investigators and Clinical Trial sites.

The primary efficacy endpoint of the ReActiv8-B Clinical Trial is a comparison of responder rates between the treatment and control arms. The Clinical Trial will be considered a success if there is a statistically significant difference in responder rates between the treatment and control arms. The Clinical Trial, if successful, will provide what is referred to as Level 1A Evidence of efficacy of ReActiv8, which may be used to support applications for favorable reimbursement in the USA. MCRA Releases New White Paper Analyzing the Industry Impact of the Federal Budget Request on FDA

Providence Medical Technology Announces Regulatory Approval From Australian (TGA) For its DTRAX® Line

Vertera Spine Announces FDA Clearance of COALESCE™ porous PEEK Lumbar Interbody Fusion Device

ATLANTAJuly 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Vertera Spine, a developer of medical devices using advanced biomaterial technologies, today announced the COALESCE™ Lumbar Interbody Fusion Device has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for use in anterior, transforaminal, posterior, and lateral lumbar interbody fusion procedures. COALESCE features Vertera Spine’s novel proprietary porous PEEK biomaterial and is the second porous PEEK device to receive FDA clearance behind Vertera Spine’s COHERE® Cervical Interbody Fusion Device. Vertera Spine will be launching COALESCE for TLIF and PLIF procedures in multiple footprint, height, and lordotic angle configurations later this year.

COALESCE combines the osseointegration capabilities of porous metal implants with the favorable imaging and mechanical properties of traditional PEEK implants. Unlike metal-coated PEEK implants that can delaminate, COALESCE’s porous PEEK architecture is grown directly out of the implant’s solid PEEK base and has an interfacial strength stronger than the shear strength of vertebral trabecular bone. Furthermore unlike 3D-printed metal implants, porous PEEK behaves mechanically similar to bone under compression, essentially eliminating any stress shielding effects, and does not produce any imaging artifacts enabling accurate visual assessment of fusion.

Vertera Spine’s porous PEEK was first clinically introduced in May 2016 with the launch of the COHERE device for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) procedures. To date, over 2,000 implants have been successfully implanted with early successful clinical outcomes already reported in a peer-reviewed publication.1

Dr. Ken Gall, Ph.D., Chair of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Duke University, will be presenting new benchtop and clinical research on porous PEEK at the upcoming NASS Summer Spine Meeting this week in San Diego, Ca.

Our next steps are to translate what we have learned in animal models to the clinical setting by assessing this bony ingrowth into porous PEEK on X-Ray and CT.”
